Frinorm's self-image
Sustainability as a Guiding Principle
Our entire product range stands for energy efficiency, energy savings and sustainability. At the same time, we ensure the responsible and resource-efficient use of materials and energy throughout our production processes.
Modern Production Site
Our modern production facilities enable customised, fast and precise manufacturing. Efficient processes help us combine quality and economic efficiency with environmental responsibility.
The Frinorm measures
Heating: Energy from waste wood
We heat our production halls and the neighbouring building independently of gas and oil using an environmentally friendly heating solution that uses waste wood as an energy source.
Photovoltaics: Our own electricity
Our photovoltaic system already contributes to part of the electricity consumption of our production facility. Further expansion is planned.
Sustainable cleaning: rain for cleaning, water for drinking
The production facilities are cleaned with rainwater. No drinking water is used for this purpose.
Chip extraction: Separate, reuse, recycle
Chip extraction in our production facilities is divided into two categories: combustible wood chips and non-combustible chips. The combustible wood chips are pressed into pellets and used for wood firing. The non-combustible chips, on the other hand, are sent to the recycling sorting plant (RSA) in Buchs/SG.
Cutting raw materials to size before gluing: ecologically and economically sustainable
Our many years of experience make our individual part production a model of ecological and economic sustainability. The raw materials are cut to size before the elements are glued together. This means that excess material can either be reused directly or recycled.
Picked orders: No waste – no waste disposal
Window and door construction: Thermal insulation elements are manufactured precisely to customer specifications. This means no waste and therefore no waste disposal.
Building construction: Thermal insulation elements are delivered in exact quantities, with no minimum order quantities. This means that there are no surplus materials that need to be returned or disposed of.
Certified wood
When selecting our wood materials, we pay close attention to their origin and responsible forest management. Wherever possible, we use *Swiss Wood as well as **FSC- and PEFC-certified wood and wood-based materials.
*The Swiss Wood label identifies wood from Switzerland and stands for regional value creation and short transport distances.
**FSC and PEFC promote responsible forest management and the traceable origin of wood.
Sustainable purchasing policy
Our purchasing policy focuses specifically on sourcing materials that conserve resources and are highly recyclable. We prefer to work with suppliers who have environmental certifications and are actively committed to ecological responsibility.
